We need a logo design for a new company/brand called "Very Not Bad". This company is starting as a website/blog, but we plan to branch out into videos (e.g., YouTube), books/ebooks, and online kit sales. The website's URL will be: www.verynotbad.tech
We plan to provide informational content to the Maker community. This includes 3D Printing, Electronics, DIY, Internet of Things, etc.
We're looking for a logo that can be used in multimedia (website, business cards, videos, ebooks, etc). So we're looking for minimal colors (2-3 colors at most).
We want to communicate that we're a resource for the Maker Movement / community.
The logo text should say "Very Not Bad" as the primary text. I'd be open to also seeing "Prototypes" as a secondary or smaller text (maybe even omitted).
We're open to ideas, but we were thinking of a mascot. The term "Very Not Bad" came from our puppy. When someone asked how well behaved he was today, we would often say "very not bad" today. And that's when we realized we liked that name. So perhaps a puppy chewing on a technical design/blueprint or maybe has a tool in its mouth. We're not tied to this idea, and we're very open to suggestions.
One inspirational logo is the "Ultimaker" logo (attached). It's a simple monochrome robot that its a bit playful. We didn't want to use a robot per se, but we like the idea of a character with the logo text that looks good in a few colors or monochrome.
I added another inspirational image of a "mascot" style dog from trello.com. I like this character design because it is "cartoon-like", whimsical, and simple.

Doit avoir
- Simple design with only a few colors. It should be able to be scaled up/down (from websites to business cards).
Bien d'avoir
- A whimsical or playful feel. We want to communicate that we're a resource to makers, but we don't want to be too serious either.
- We're open to ideas, but we were thinking of a mascot. The term "Very Not Bad" came from our puppy. When someone asked how well behaved he was today, we would often say "very not bad" today. And that's when we realized we liked that name. So perhaps a puppy chewing on a technical design/blueprint or maybe has a tool in its mouth. - It would be very nice if it can be converted to monochrome or grayscale as well.
Ne doit pas comporter
- Should not be too intricate.
