Brief de Design de Logo
We need a logo for new company based in New York called "Checkmate Chasers". The tagline is "Make Your Move"
Checkmate Chasers will initially sell clothing (tees + hats), chess bags and backpacks, skins for laptops/mobiles/etc, and other items like beach towels and other cool stuff.
The primary audience is for chess enthusiasts. HOWEVER, these items are not SOLELY for them. The designs will have chess themes that are NOT overt so they enjoyed by anybody. For example, one of our designs has a knight holding a flag. The flag looks like a chess board and the knight looks like a regular knight although it's a chess piece.
Premise:
- Anybody can play and enjoy chess. It's a game like any other game that involved 2 people (i.e. cards, board games, etc.)
- There is no TYPICAL person that plays chess although its heavily weighted to men. Ditch the stereotype of old men playing chess in the park or that chess might be for nerds.
- Chess is about strategy and thinking. It's about anticipating the next move.
- The spokesperson for this is an 8 1/2 year old boy who loves chess. Therefore, there is a very strong KID component. However, as described above, the designs will appeal to teen boys and perhaps young men who like graphic tees and such.
About the Name & Tagline
- In chess, you are always chasing after a checkmate.
- Make Your Move displays confidence, invites a challenge, says let's play.

- Like the Apple or Nike logos, I'd really like the ability to maintain the integrity of the symbol while being able to change the color.

Ne doit pas comporter
- Logo image should NOT have anything obvious like a standard chess piece or be dependent on the text. I'd like it to be ATYPICAL so that it stands out and be recognizable as a symbol. The logo could almost stand as a "piece" in and of itself meaning the logo is SO COOL that it could be used as a standalone on a t-shirt, hat or whatever else like Nike.
Logo image should not be dependent on the colors to communicate the vision.
