We need a logo for a new company based in Akron/Cleveland Ohio called The Marques Group (I'm originally from NJ so a bit more edgy than typical Midwest). Marques is my last name and my business partner thinks it's important to use my name to connect my passion. I've been hesitant to start my own firm for far too long and finally have the confidence to do it. So my name is an important part of the business purpose in that it will drive me to make this happen.
We are exactly the opposite of the majority of consultants who tend to be robotic, scripted, attention seeking, long-winded, and generate needlessly complex solutions under the guise of sophistication. Typical corporate-speak like synergy, leverage, empower, monetize, burning platform, move the needle, and the like makes us cringe...hard.
Our values are creativity, humor, insight, passion, and simplicity. We expect to be small and nimble vs. big and sluggish. We will always have a family business feel no matter how much we grow.
Our mission is to change the workplace forever - getting leaders back to nurturing and growing their people. Putting humanity back in human resources (and removing the word resources - when did people become a resource?). We will help companies with Culture & Engagement, Learning & Development, and Strategy & Change.
We welcome your creativity regarding colors/symbols/images. We appreciate the use of symbolic colors and other images/shapes in our logo - especially as they might connect to our beliefs and values (e.g., a fox represents wisdom, quick thinking or the color purple can mean enlightenment or transformation).
Beyond our values, the final design should communicate authentic, soulful, fun, vulnerable, and optimistic. Very open to your ideas and excited to see some amazing designs. We hope our story inspires your best work!
