Brief de Design de Logo
Hi,
We need an Afrocentric logo designed for our social impact project. We want to inspire a global movement of social innovation with black communities. We focus on supporting black communities and their allies across the world. From countries in Africa to black enclaves around the USA like Detroit, Oakland and Newark.
Out community work is delivered at no cost -- to pay the bills we produce online media content (podcast) and provide advisory/consulting support to corporate and individual clients. Money isn't the goal here -- but it is a milestone for sustainability. We want a logo that inspires community & trust but shows we have style.
We want the logo to work as a symbol for member from our community -- we want the symbol to become a lapel pin later on, something people are proud to wear to a meeting anywhere in the world.
We are rooted in social entrepreneurship - might be good to know this field and the people attracted to it typically. The do-gooder types, highly intelligent, community minded.
We see the Socialsmith as a persona of someone who seeks to create impact in the world. Someone so driven to have meaningful purpose they are dedicated to to the mastery of the craft like any other artist. We want to attract artist of social impact. We want our symbol to represent artistry, creation and community.
We see imagery of hammers (or something that makes impact). We want something inviting - with minimalistic design.
We would like the colors to be: welcoming/inviting, powerful, catchy, but clean. We would towards a more modern style, somewhat mature and sophisticated. Please don't go overboard with the anvil and hammer imagery - we want to appeal to women as well and those icons are associated with more masculine energy.

Project Deadline Extended Reason: We didn't see designs we loved but think we could have done a better job providing direction. We have updated the briefing. Please keep working with us -- we dont have enough money to do this again :) Added Tuesday, November 10, 2015

18-35. Local mined but globally conscious. These types are into DIY crafts. They would spend more on handmade locally created goods. They see themselves as part of the larger African Diaspora or as an ALLY to those communities.

Exigences
Doit avoir
- - It Must be a Symbol
- - Must pop on Social Media, Website, & as a lapel pin (be mindful of aspect to ratio)
- - Must use detached text and graphics
- - Simplicity matters – If you design an intricate logo, you run the risk of some of the elements not being recognizable when it’s resized. For this reason, you should avoid long taglines, thin lines, and detailed graphical elements.
Bien d'avoir
- We see something circular with good ratio proportions and colors that represent the movement of connecting African Descendants through social innovation work. We believe symbols that inspire impact, community and growth would be powerful.
Ne doit pas comporter
- - Limit colors and shades, do not uses more than 2-3 colors
- - No ClipART!
- - No DROP SHADOWS
- - No Connected Image & words
