THIS IS A DESIGN & BUILD COMPETITION


Im Looking for a fresh E-commerce website to sell door locks, I would like it to be more visually based, so instead of having worded categories, have then visual, with rim cylinders, euro cylinders, garage locks, oval cylinders, deadlocks, sash locks, Upvc multipoint locks, door handles, window handles, safes, padlocks etc, as picture, with a product manufacturer search feature, a video tab or banner to stream videos,

Hi Everyone,

Im overwhelmed by some of the designs which have been great, however I think I need to make my vision clearer, Im looking for 12 - 16 categories - euro cylinders, rim cylinders, sashlocks, deadlocks, door handles, garage locks, safes, multipoint locks, panic hardware, padlocks, nightlatches, Post Boxes.

these are only categories, once the customer clicks on the category they will have a choice of manufacturers which will be between 4/5 Yale, Union, Era, Mul-t-lock, Zone, Sterling.

The reason for this is people generally dont know what the lock on their door is called and I want a site to be visual to enable customers to source the locks they need.

This is what will make my site unique!!!!

Colour is important, I want to use the blue from my logo to keep it uniformed

I like the idea of reviewed products down the left hand side

I would like a product/ manufacturer search facility 


All the above are in your designs, but they are not all on 1 design ;0)

  • It must be visually based, to help customers identify the product they need,

    It must also have a banner/ picture of how to measure a euro cylinder.

    I think it would work best if we have a generic category picture, then when you click the picture it then has a manufacturer page in pictures again with a brief description of what the lock offers ie, anti bump, anti snap, anti drill, British Standard etc.


    must be easy to populate with stock

  • I would like it to have geolocation for visitors ip addresses so I can see where they are staying so I can offer a fitting service.
