Brief de Design de Logo

We are a new structural/consulting engineering firm made up of six guys that recently left another firm. Our specialty is heavy transportation infrastructure design and repair. More specifically railroads and marine facilities with a concentration in bridge engineering. The company name is Fair Dermody Consulting Engineers, LLC or FDC Engineers for short. The name is a combination of the two business partners last names. The design should convey stability and be simple. The idea would be to have both a logo and a banner that includes the logo and the name and address. Color is not a big thing for us, however if color is used it should be limited to one or two colors and be fairly muted/earth tone-ish. Our focus is a common sense, cost effective approach to engineering.
