Brief de Design Application

We are looking to update / upgrade our current logo. Our current logo is attached. Designs can build/modernize our current logo or start afresh (please don't copy/reuse the text in our current logo [yes, we know its ugly]).

About the app:
The app contains the complete King James Version Bible text as well as the Strong's Concordance study helps. Users can touch a word in the bible and see information about the original texts that word was translated from as well as where that original word is used else where in the Bible.

We need three things (see below for requirements):
* An App Icon
* An iPhone startup screen
* Two iPad startup screens (one portrait and one landscape)

The iPhone and iPad startup screens are screens displayed while the app is loading (splash screen). They are simply a large version of the app's logo (with differing dimensions) and maybe some extra detail as the space allows more. The iPad and iPhone screens can be identical, but please note the size. orientation and aspect ratio differences.

Objects we like (pick any/none/anything else that is appropriate):
* Bible (and / or bible text), open or closed
* Books / book shelf
* Magnifying glass
* Light beams

Ive included a few examples of these objects that i like (Idea images attached).

Styles we like:
* Modern glossy look (use this on objects/text in the logo not the icon as a whole)
* Realistic drawings (ie, vector cartoons / not photos)

Ive attached some Idea images, please don't copy them. They are for ideas only. If you want to use them, try to merge the good points of all into your designs rather than focus on one.

I recommend that you focus on the logo first, and ill let you know if I like that before you attempt the larger items required.

A successful designer may also win a negotiated web site template design, depending on the continued success of the app.

• - Design Requirements:
  * If bible verses are used, please use the King James Version (KJV) bible (not New KJV).
  * The icon should not have a transparent background, and should be filled completely with detail. The winning design will use minimal/no background tints (colors) and focus on the foreground (ie, very detailed).
  
  - App Icon requirements:
  * Minimum logo size is 512x512 pixels, and must be square (ie, 1:1 aspect ratio).
  * Corners will be rounded on the App Store, but no need to round the corners in the design, as this is done by Apple (unless you use it as part of your design).
  
  - iPhone startup screen requirements:
  * Minimum size is 640x960, aspect ratio 2:3 (portrait).
  
  - iPad startup screen requirements:
  * Portrait minimum size is 1536x2048, aspect ratio 3:4
  * Landscape minimum size is 2048x1536, aspect ratio 4:3

• * Ideally Adobe Illustrator, but can accept Adobe Photoshop / InDesign, others (if the designs are exceptionally good)
  * The text "Strong's Concordance" should be on the icon somewhere, and should not be plain (it should stand out in some way)
