Brief de Design de Logo

Name of Company: The Fair Trade Tree

***Please see my try at making the logo, attached as a picture file below. I can't quite get it to work but that is the concept!***

Business selling handmade fair-trade handicrafts, jewellery, clothes, homewares from around the globe. Based in Australia but shipping online worldwide.

The vision of the business is to empower the makers of these products by providing a decent and reasonable price for their work. No sweatshops, no massive haggling to get the price down to nothing. Most of the profits will be reinvested back to the artists, enabling them to stay employed and keep their skills active. Crafts from Kenya, Nepal, India, Peru, Guatemala, just to name a few.

I had some ideas of the logo being like a tree:
a) with the leaves and canopy of the tree being like a big globe- the countries coloured in green.
b)with the trunk of the tree being either a person holding the globe, or, a hand holding the globe, with the fingers being branches.
c) with some cute additions like little flower, little butterfly or a little bird. But it may look too girly, so not too many.
d) perhaps was thinking the words being in like a handmade embriodered type of text?
e) Ideally I would like the logo to be fit in a square-ish type of format, rather than a long landscape type of format.
f) or maybe a tree with the leaves being little figures of people?

OR - if you have any better ideas go for it! This was just my initial thoughts, certainly happy to see better ones :)

The main thing is that the final design should convey a tree design incorporating people and handmade concepts.
