Brief de Web Design

I need someone to give my clip-share website a fresh new look (video sharing website of disabled inspirational videos)... I initially require someone to create an innovative new design utilising the clipshare template I already have (if it is easier).



Please be aware that all I am looking for is an innovative design. I have a programmer to implement the design as the website is in PHP. Some of the below information may not apply to the designer but more for the programmer...



The home page design will be used for the entire website and therefore you don't need to recreate every page but simply construct the home page. I have four template designs for the clip-share template (you can go to the clipshare website to view the templates if you want, or contact me to acquire the templates). • I will be having a few modules implemented such as a blog and a forum and therefore there must be some tabs for these modules...

• There must also be a tab leading to an "About Us" page so that I can explain the purpose behind the website, etc.

• Advertisements is a big factor in creating the design... keeping in mind that the main goal and desire is a nice, clean, neat looking, professional website... Please do involve at least two advertisements on the page without detracting from the overall website look. There are already advertisement positions on the template which look fine where they are, however feel free to move them if you think it would enhance the look of the website.

• Sections such as "last five users online" and "vote here" can go in the box at the bottom to create more space along the sides and thus preventing the website from becoming more cramped.

• One other design concept that I had was that instead of simply a normal rating system for rating videos, I could have something like a "Check-ability" rating which may be like five ticks that light up depending on the rating. This concept is up to the designers discretion as to how they want to handle it.

• Within the first two websites I really like the graphic under the navigation bar up the top and was thinking of putting a graphic of disabled people. If it is possible it would be good to be able to change the graphic at regular intervals. The logo is black (please see attachment) so that might give you an idea of a colour scheme. I also like the design of the sign-in/sign-up box on http://www.dropyourtalent.com.

• I like the general layout of http://www.tangle.com in terms of the way that each section is contained in its own box, with the rounded corners on the boxes, and the dark background behind the light boxes (the logo is black so the background needs to compliment this). This continues right through the website and even sections like the comments for the videos are within these boxes (if you click on a video you will notice this).

• They don't have to have the different colours around the edges like on this website; they can have a shadow or some other simple decoration.

• I also like the design of the navigation bar on http://www.tangle.com. I would also like a "videos being watched right now" section in the template and although the programmer needs to implement this, the designer will have to show this on the template. There are quite a few video sharing websites with this feature (http://www.workingdogvids.com is one example).

• I also like the box that has the tabs "newest, featured, popular, wildcard" on http://www.webridestv.com. I like features like this as it allows multiple videos to be stored and viewed in one place without making the page to busy...
