'Art As Food' is initially an e-commerce art gallery. Our philosophy is very different from other art galleries who sell art either to match the couch, or as an investment.
Our philosophy is that having Art in your daily surroundings, is literally healthy for you; psychologically, socially and even physically! If you are interested, I have scientific studies to prove it. For instance, viewing art actually stimulates the region in our brains associated with the feeling of reward! So for us, Art is as necessary and delicious for people as Food is.
Although our passion for Art is serious, we like to play a little with the food association. For instance, Art under $150 dollars we refer to as Appetizers. Entree Art is Art that is a little meatier.
All of our art is Original... no prints or reproductions! And all of it is under $700, so that everyone can have art as part of their every day. The low price point does not mean low quality. There are many artists out there who do incredible work... but whose livelihood is not exclusively based on art sales.
Our logo:
First of all, the "As" in our name is important to emphasize because people naturally remember it as "Is".. Art is Food, which is incorrect.... and that domain is already owned by someone else.
Secondly, to me, ART and FOOD are equal... they are one and the same... so to emphasize one over the other is not consistent with our philosophy.
Our company:
-ART is what customers Tangibly get from our company.
-NOURISHMENT is what our customers INTangibly get from our product.
-AFFORDABLE is How we deliver our product
-ORIGINAL is what drives us; our belief that Original Art is sooo much more nutritious than mass produced art.
Our logo should REFLECT these things:
-INSPIRED is what our customers will feel as a result of experiencing the Art and our company
-PASSIONATE about Art is a natural trait of our company and everyone involved
-SACRED is what we believe Art is. Our belief in it's sacredness can be felt in the way we present it on our website and in the gift wrapped presentation of it in our shipping of it.
-UNIQUE in our approach, understanding and presentation of Art.
-QUALITY. Although affordable, the quality of art is excellent... no velvet elvis' here!!
Logo Colors:
I like Purple because of the Sacredness and Royalty associated with it. I'd like this to be a primary color in the design. I'm open to all shades...
I like Green because it denotes Healthy and organic (original)
If I had to choose a third color, it would be orange because it is a color that solicits emotion, makes you happy... and also makes us think of oranges and vitamin C .. which keeps you healthy.
My only concern with telling you about both purple and orange, is that I don't want FEDEX feeling. You don't have to use the 3 colors. Just the purple. Again, the logo should reflect the 4 items above.
Two last pieces of info. :
I would like to be able to make a favicon out of some aspect of the design.
Secondly, at times, the logo will be used with a tag line. There are two different ones:
-Art Gallery
-Nourish Yourself with the Power of Original Art
