Brief de Design Photoshop

Hi Designers,

We have a tongue-in-cheek contest for you to get involved in.

You may be keeping up with the news about the proposed expansion of the Adani coal mine in Queensland, Australia.

With the Queensland government granting preliminary approval - the expansion is now one step closer, to the dismay of many farmers, environmentalists and concerned citizens of Australia.

DesignCrowd wonders how Australians would feel if an Adani mine came to one of their favourite destinations?

Well, that's exactly what we want you to do.

We would like you to find some of the most beautiful and iconic Australian spots (beaches, tourist destinations etc.) and photoshop the image, to make it appear as if a coal mine has been built in it's place.

Here are some examples to get you started:

Sydney Harbour
Bondi Beach
Uluru
Byron Bay
The Blue Mountains
Centennial Park
Daintree National Park
Great Barrier Reef
The Great Ocean Road
Broome and the Kimberley region
Kakadu National Park
Fraser Island

Find high-res images of destinations from a distance, and transform them with photoshop to become desolate and barren mine-fields.

All submissions must include the original picture that has been edited, so we can see the interesting before and after contrast in the same upload/submission.

You must include a description in the "design rationale" field when you upload your submission to identify the Australian destination you've changed.

Do not label your designs with the words "before" or "after" directly on the graphic.

Images must be high res/high quality images. The winning designs will display strong technical execution (our design team will scrutinise the quality of photoshopping) and thus look believable.
