Vanity Vacation is a television / web series that profiles people who travel abroad for a medical procedure. It is a show about medical tourism...It is a cautionary tale that profiles the people willing to take the risks and reap the benefits of having surgery abroad.
Medical tourism business is on the rise at 20% year over year and the cost of cosmetic surgery at home is the biggest reason that thousands of people from N. America are seeking to have procedures performed in countries like Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, India, Thailand and the Philippines every year.
Approximately 35 million Americans are uninsured and many choose to travel for medical procedures. Depending on the treatment and type of service they can save as much as 85 percent of total costs.
