Logo design for new insights (research) business

Hey great idea ... I *love* neon effects, art deco stylizing, "Route 66 Diner" types of things :) My question, is that when creating logos, often there is a full color, no holding back on effects logo ... and a much more "print" friendly version where the effects may not show up (like glow around neon, etc). When printing on a shirt, for example, one or two color printing is often desired with no gradient effects ... so in bringing your idea to life, are you concerned with the logo translating to things like T-shirts, or media that may only use one color, etc ?
That's a great question TW. I won't be printing t-shirts.... the main use will be for on Powerpoints, in the signature of my email, and in Word docs. Also on my website when I build it.
I suppose there will be clients who print up my documents and it will need to look good on there assuming many will just use black and white printing.
I love neon too. It looks excellent against black backgrounds but wil need a version that can look good on white background as well since I'm not messing with black backgrounds in my powerpoints as they are a total pain to use reverse type all the time.
Does this help? Ben
Yes that helps, good feedback ... because shirts/screen printing/black & white/one or two color sometimes involves different thinking when approaching a logo (typically more vector based as opposed to rasterized images with gradients and effects). But since it's mostly going to be used on the media you listed, I think some full neon effects and whatnot will be more along my own personal thinking at least. It would translate to the average person's printer also, and business cards as well, etc and so forth. So cool :) Things like pens, gadgets, shirts, etc ... it might get lost in translation.
Good feedback dude, I appreciate it :) And good luck in choosing from all the designs you'll receive, I hope you find what you like and are happy with :)
Hi Ben, I would love to get your feedback on my design. It will help to ascertain whether or not I am heading in the right direction. Thanks much! Leigh of eSd
Hi any way I could get some feed back on my design? Love this project and wanted to make sure I was on the right track.
