Brief de Design de Logo

This restaurant has been in my family for 3 generations. Now I'm stepping up, but redoing the entire concept.
The new name will be Driftwood Cafe . Lounge. We are located in Nassau, Bahamas on Downtown Bay St. We cater to locals and tourist so the logo has to memorable enough for a tourist but not gimmicky for a local. Currently our hours are 10am - 6pm but once we do the renovations and test the waters, we would like to also open (thurs, fri, sat) in the evenings for drinks and tapas style foods. Our food is seafood, sandwiches and a little pasta.
Our colour pallet for the decor includes blues, greys, honey onyx and whites.
I'm looking for a simple, clean logo. I like the idea of using a piece of driftwood in it but so far I haven't come across anything that really grabs my attention. We have a famous tree (Lone Tree) in Eleuthera that I fancy a lot but not sure if it could work? Otherwise I am open to ideas.
