Brief de Design de Logo

We need a logo design for a new Funeral Home/Crematory in Western NC. We will be targeting a large community for funeral service needs. We would like a logo to be a subtle, yet bold, impact and leaving a lasting impression. We have another business Morris Funeral Home (www.morrisfamilyfuneralhome.com) which is serving the more premier clientele. This new firm - will be of a more modern, updated feel reaching out to middle age people. We do not want a "funeral/cremation" look. We are hoping for fresh, crisp and modern. If that makes sense. We are just in need of some direction for design!We have not determined colors. However, we would like to refrain from Navy/Silver or Burgundy.
