Greater Dan: As a designer, I understand the frustration since your logo honestly was one of the only professional ones submitted; however if you have any experience working with clients you are sure to know that they tend to pick the crappiest designs. Also, I submitted a link to a logo they liked, [Non image link removed]and the one chosen was closest to this style.

It might help to look at it like this:
If I ask you to build me a shed for my yard, and I come home to a castle; it may be the most amazing piece of architecture, but its not a shed, it's a castle. I wanted somewhere to put my lawnmower, not somewhere to stow a princess. Design what people are looking for. We wanted something like the Browning logo.

Also, if you want to keep business, you should learn to bite your tongue. No one wants to work with someone who curses or makes remarks like the one above.
