Brief de Design de Couverture de Livre

"The Bad Specimens" is a fiction book with strong sci-fi influences.
What if humans were kept and experimented on and used for entertainment by alien creatures? I have a couple ideas (see uploads for ideas and inspirations), but I'm open to suggestions:
1. A defiant woman's face, half in and out of the water. She is mixed-race, with eyes the green and burgundy/purple colors of alexandrite gems. She has been through a lot of pain, but she remains defiant. Maybe the water design can go all the way around the book cover? Maybe the design black and white/gray except for her eyes and the water?
2. A large number of human shapes, some blood red representing ones that have "expired." This represents how the creatures might see humans as data, numbers, all the same.

Not looking for World of Warcraft boobies or stereotypical alien heads with big black eyes, or Alien Vs. Predator :)
