I hold a Certificate in Commercial A ...more     I am a Certified Graphic Designer, and a member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada. I hold a Certificate in Commercial Art, a Diploma in Advertising Art (Graphic Design and Illustration), and a Teaching Certification and Diploma.     I did teach full-time college courses in Advance Graphic Design Problem Solving, Design Management, Publication Design, and The History of Graphic Design for the greater part of ten years at Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I continue to free-lance. I have been a practicing professional for over 35 years.     During these years, I have witnessed the evolution of the profession from the early days of lead type (essentially Johannes Gutenberg's principle from the 15th century) through to digital, and finally web in the 21st century.     My design principles emerged from the Swiss Movement and the Postmodern Era. These magnificent principles are very much alive and well today as evident by the work of young 21 st century designers, and the clients they serve, by example of Apple Inc., Honda and Reebok, just to name a few.     My style evolves, intuitively, as I observe media and society. I still embrace a minimalistic approach. In other words, if a graphic element is removed from a layout, and the communication is still clear, it was better off without it anyway.     There you have it. hide
