Premium Media-industry News App Design for iPad and Android tablet needed

We need a design for iPhone and Android tablet. The company "mediatrender" has a growing number of high level customers getting real time, premium media industry news on the Swedish market. The users get push notifications, giving them a heads-up when news arrive, giving them the opportunity to make business decisions quicker than others.

The app shall be based on the current iOS/Android app (Screenshots attached), but it needs a refresh apart from the new iPad/Android tablet features. It needs to in a subtle way include the latest trends in iOS7/Android 4.3 design. Important is still that the users shall recognize themselves from the current app using the UX of the tablet to improve the useability of the application.
