Dear Designers,

our contest on Mendel Therapeutics has received ca. 350 designs from 150 designers (today 22:00 CET). That attention and involvement are simply above our expectations.

Nevertheless, let me share here my observations:
- only a few logo designs are meeting our standards and were addressing our brand personality criteria described in the original brief,
- although we have no preference for the colors, the logo will be mostly used on a white background while operating in the pharma/biotech sector. Some designs were combining several colors with yellow which was not enough visible,
- there was a lot of playing with the monograms M and T, only a few designers went further and did experiment with other letters,
- we also do not like designs that were presented with emblem/mascot, animated, with inks style or watermark,
- designs with artistic chaos, inventive typography, and nature-inspired (leaves, flowers, butterflies) were also eliminated from the shortlist.

We have developed a new brief (date January 2nd, 2021) to provide you with detailed guidance. We aspire that our logo will be simple/minimalist, with vivid colors in gradient and/or 3D format.

Let us try to inspire you to include in your proposals at least one of the elements mentioned below:
- unique typography or,
- distinguished monogram or,
- Life Sciences inspired logo or,
- any other modern logo using the pictorials, symbols, and abstracts.

We would like to create the perception of balance by using simple geometry icons or be inspired by life sciences (see slides 4-7 from the updated Brief 2). Mendel is the founder of genetics therefore visuals from DNA / RNA / gene are a natural choice. On the other hand, the market is already crowded and a lot of designs were eliminated due to lack of differentiation (see slide #6 of Brief 2). We would suggest using gender signs (e.g. in the form of the letter "e" in Mendel) or chromosomes. In addition, as we are operating in the area of brain diseases, we, therefore, invite you to submit designs with neuron/synapse/brain icons (see slide #7 of Brief 2).

It is a privilege to work with so many talented designers and we have decided to further prolong the deadline. I am confident that we have enough time to perfect the logo design and encourage you to supply anything that comes to your mind.

If you don't Like My Design so please remove the one-star and then eliminate it.
But don't give the one or two stars. It's bad for all designers so please. Remove the Star I appreciate you if you remove it.
